Never signed lease extension, am I still bound under contract to stay? - lease extension agreement

I signed a lease for 6 months when I moved into my apartment. A month before my contract expired, I went to the office and told the people who intend to stay for another 6 months. They said they would get all the papers and told me if I was ready to sign the next day. Now 3 weeks and I have not heard a word or have not signed anything yet. So my question is ... I never signed anything saying that I ran, I am still legally bound for another 6 months:

Only if you sign a lease, you are on a month to month. You can leave a notice of 30 days without paying a penalty.

Not at all. had signed the document while it is a written agreement, but if that does not mean that you do not bound.

It depends on your local jurisdiction. Without a contract, usually, the Treaty, a month to month lease shall be in accordance with the common law.
